Continuing the series of Bible lessons for kids on the Old Testament's most epic tales - here's a Moses and the Burning Bush Bible Lesson. The focus is on how God invited Moses into His BIG STORY. The program elements include a name game, memory verse, song, lesson, Q&A, and prayer.
This is lesson #4 in a series: 1 - The Creator & His Creation
2 - Noah's Flood
May you find space here to pause, reflect, and abide.

Icebreaker
Say: “Today we’re going to learn about Moses and the burning bush.” Take turns. Somebody is chosen to be ‘Moses’. ‘Moses’ walks around, looking for something, and shouts out:🗣️ “What do I see? Who will send me? ‘n Bush that shines bright, and my pain becomes light!” Then the rest of the group answers: “Moses, God calls you. You need to listen to Him.” The teacher can share a truth about God with the kids each time that they can then repeat: 1. God is my Creator; He knows me. 2. God chooses me; I am His. 3. God saves me; I am safe

Bible-memory-verse
We've done this one before, let's see how well you can remember:
John 3:16
(Make with hands: J 3 1 6)
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
(Make with hands: 👆♥️🫵🎁🙏🙈🌱)
Every Bible-memory-verse has emojis indicating which moves to make with your hands to perform the verse and memorise it. Example: Point up to show “For this is how God”. Make a heart with your hands to show “loved”. Point to a friend to show “the world”. Pretend to hold a gift in your hands to show “He gave his one and only Son”. Fold your hands in prayer to show “so that everyone who believes in him”. Cover your face with your hands to show “will not perish”. Clap hands like a fountain or plant that sprouts up to show “but have eternal life”.
Moses and the Burning Bush Bible lesson
We read in the Bible show a physical Bible about someone with the name Moses. Can you say Moses?🗣️ Mo-ses. Moses was part of Abraham’s family who received God’s promise. Remember, God promises to make His people so many and then to bless ALL the nations through them.🌍 That was God’s Big Plan to be reunited closely with His people, like in the Garden of Eden. 🌱
One day Moses was walking when he saw something really strange. There was a bush full of🔥flames, but the fire did not consume the bush. Moses went closer and then he heard a voice say to him:
“Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied. “Do not come any closer,” the Lord warned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.”
Moses quickly took off his shoes and stood barefoot in front of the burning bush. When he heard it was God - the One who made the promise to his forefather Abraham - who was talking to him, Moses’ heart beat fast in his chest, ❤️
God chose Moses to become part of His Big Story. His goal was to save God’s people, Abraham’s descendants, from Egypt. Maybe you have heard the stories about the plagues and the Red Sea that opened? God led Moses to save His people.
But before that happened, Moses was standing in front of a burning bush. God invited him to become part of the Big Story - And He invites you too!
